HCMH to PP air v. bus

Hi everyone,

I%26#39;m trying to arrange travel from HCMC to PP and I just want to make sure I have all the correct information.

I%26#39;ve gathered the cheapest airline flying that route is Vietnam Airlines at $109 one way but tickets can only be bought in Vietnam. Is that correct? Alternately taking a bus would be 6-7 hours but cost much less?

We don%26#39;t have much time so would prefer not to spend 6 hours on a bus but I%26#39;m concerned about showing up at the airport and buying tickets without them being sold out or is this a non-issue in Vietnam?

Yep, that sounds about correct for the airfare. The bus is $9-$12 (different prices for different companies) and it takes 6 hours. Why not buy your tickets a few days in advance? You can pop into a local travel agency and they can reserve the flights for you.

Hi marne16, I presume you are coming from the USA so it%26#39;s difficult for me to give you advice on how to pre-purchase your tickets, in Australia i can pre-purchase through travel agents either online or counter sales but not direct through VA which is unusual in today%26#39;s internet highway.I am sure you would have similar opportunities in the USA to do the same and i would find it strange if that%26#39;s not the case however i am not from there so who knows. Your bus info is correct so no need to say more on that, not sure about US citizens visa requirements but Australians need to have one prior to arrival in the country so best check if you have not done so already, hope you can get air tickets before you arrive it will certainly be less problem for you good luck.

just go to a travel agent in HCMC when you arrive and they%26#39;ll get you tickets. Keep checking AirAsia for new services before you arrive.They MIGHT get on the PP-HCMC route.

The bus journey would be %26#39;interesting%26#39;, but as you say time is a problem.
