Khmer New Year

Hi

I am travelling to Siem Reap in Khmer New Year and have been trying to orgainse a guide %26amp; driver to see the temples and also Sonle Tap Lake. I do want to go with trip advisor forum recommendations but no one is available (other guides but not them personally). Do you think if I leave it till I get there I should have no problems getting one off the street. I am just worried about the holiday that I should book early.

Hi Annan,

April is already a low season period in Siem Reap.

However, during the Khmer New Year most of tour guides may occupy with their family’ picnic or traveling out to see their relatives/friends who live far-away from Siem Reap.

I would recommend you to pre-book your tour earlier than your arrival date. You may ask the reservation staff of the hotel that you have booked for your upcoming visit.

I agree that although it is low season, many people may be either traveling back to their villages or otherwise occupied with family events....
