We will be arriving in Phnom Penh on the 29th July at 4.15pm and leaving for Siem Reap the next day. We then have 3 days in Siem Reap.
Will we have time to see the Tuol Sleng museum and Choeung Ek (The Killing Fields) on the morning of the 30th and then catch the bus to Siem Reap at 2.30pm which would arrive around 8pm or would we be better off catching a morning bus and getting to Siem Reap early afternoon?
We could catch an early afternoon flight but we feel we would see more of the country if we took the bus trip.

I would opt for heading to Siem Reap in the morning.
Here%26#39;s why-
You will arrive in Siem Reap around 2:00pm. You can get settled into your hotel and go get your Angkor Wat passes and get a free sunset (if it%26#39;s done at around 5pm they don%26#39;t ';activate'; the pass til the next day). Then have a nice relaxing dinner and get to bed early so you can start your day with a sunrise somewhere. 3 days is pretty limited for the Angkor Area and it%26#39;s not worth it to be rushing around. (Which is what you will be doing if you arrive at night, trying to get setteld in, etc) You will be able to see plent yof the countryside if you get out to Banteay Srei, The Roluos group, etc.

Thanks Maneki-neko.
Will we be missing a unique part of Cambodian history if we don%26#39;t get to Tuol Sleng and Choeung Ek.
Yes you will, but you can always do that on your next trip, no? Phnom Penh is worth at least 2 full days, and to just see that side of the history of it, well...
You will see what I mean about needing every minute you can get once you arrive in Siem Reap. You will be missing several thousand years%26#39; worth of history if you skip parts of that...
