Hi,
We%26#39;re thinking of staying in Palm Village resort, which is just outside Siem Riep. Can anyone comment on how far/how easy to get back and forth? Also, whether this would be too inconvenient in June b/c of the rain?
We%26#39;re traveling with 2 kids, would like to return to the hotel after lunch for a couple of hours down time before we go out sightseeing again, and want to make sure this would work at this location.
Any other feedback about this place welcome also!
Thank you!
Palm Village - too far?
Stay in the town center, so you can walk around and browse at the markets, etc.
Palm Village - too far?
personally, its my favourite place to stay, and part of its charm is that its not in the centre of town. Its situation means that its quiet, its grounds are lovely, perfect after a day out at the temples!
Yes it requires transport into/back from town, but that%26#39;s not a big deal, esp as you%26#39;ll have transport to/fro the temples, and your driver will just come back and take you in/take you back
We are booked to stay there next week! Can%26#39;t wait. The reviews are really good, and I think it will be nice to be a bit off the beaten track.
you and the kids will love palm village, the lady that runs it and the staff are excellent.one of the better ones..a tuk tuk into town about 5 mins and $2 usd..
Hi! I stayed there last October and it is a very special place and a very good deal. It is family owned and run and they do a good job and are very friendly. The location is as good as any other for returning for a mid-day pauze and then returning to the park. Whether it is too far from the city center for evenings really depends how much and how often you want to be going into town. But then it%26#39;s only 10 minutes anyways so to go into town for dinner and then return isn%26#39;t a real hindrance. You just cant step out the front door and walk to Pub Street in 5 or 10 minutes. But is that important? And the food there is quite good. For a place to retreat to, away from the maddening crowds as they say, it%26#39;s perfect.
If you stay there, come back and share your experience or write a review. Have a great time!
Thx everyone for your input, I really appreciate it!
