Favorite restaurants & pubs in Siem Reap?

Staying at Encore Angkor near Pub Street, will be walking or tuk-tuking to restaurants for lunch %26amp; dinner.

What are your favorite Khmer restaurants? Favor French restaurants?

No pizza or India, we have that in Toronto, thanks anyway.

Would also like pubs that are safe for solo woman traveler.

THANKS.

Favorite restaurants %26amp; pubs in Siem Reap?

My favorite khmer restaurants are Khmer Kitchen (khmer), Samot (french/khmer)and Bario(khmer/french).

For safe pub, choose the X-Bar or Laundry Bar.

Cheers

I reckon it would take a month to eat your way around SR. We picked up a neat little pocket sized guide - ';Eating in SR'; - most hotels should have a supply of these - there is a matching little book - a guide to Angkor. Both have maps with advertisers marked on maps.

Don%26#39;t come back into town especially for lunch - plenty of choices on the road - a bunch of little restaurants near the Bayon (we found Smiley number 12 great - plain decor, dirt floors but fab food) Your driver will probably stop near food stalls. Highly recommend you invite your driver for lunch - cost is negligable but great fun and the best way to get to know about the real cambodia.

BBQ restaurant (cook you own on a table sized hot plate) in pub alley was fantastic - though we declined the offer of snake and crocodile!

happy travels %26amp; good eating

For a unique experience try the Dead Fish Tower not far from the end of Pub Street. Good food, dancing....and a live crocodile pit.

We also enjoyed half price cocktails at Raffles Hotel which is on each night about 6pm.

We have some pics and stories of our trip here ... www.bobandjanette.com which may help

Happy %26amp; safe travels

I second the Dead Fish Tower, FANTASTIC!

I recommend Khmer Kitchen restaurant.

Hi all.

This question is asked every 4 months or so which is why I put in the link in my very first post. I believe all of your comments (or recommendations on the very same places) are in there. People are not using the valuable search funtion, unfortunately.

Please add the links from now on so we don%26#39;t have to go through this every tiem, unless you enjoy it...

Maneki-neko, I understand that this topic pops up a lot, however as the year goes on, new things pop up, new travellers write recommendations and people have new requests and specific wants/needs. I don%26#39;t think its overly repetitive but moreover a very important part of this forum.

If you don%26#39;t like it popping up all the time, you can always choose to ignore it...

Simple solution-

Post link + new restaurant additions, if there are any.

That would mean that in this instance AskOksana would have to search for:

French/Khmer Restaurants, No Pizza, No Indian, Safe for solo women traveller, Siem Reap.

I searched for this... it came back with:

Sorry, but nothing matches your search for French/Khmer Restaurants, No Pizza, No Indian, Safe for solo women traveller, Siem Reap

or... she could ask, and helpful people could answer and not go on like they are the sole contributor to the forums.
