Cambodia or Vietnam ?

Do both, if you can afford the time (at least 2 weeks each).

yeah I just wanted peoples advice especially those who have been to both..which one did you like the most? Are the 2 countries vastly different ? We have about 12 days to spend over there.

My wife is Thai and Im Kiwi, we are in our early 40%26#39;s

and our budget is middle of the road. Thanks.

I spent 2 weeks in Vietnam and I have been to Cambodia 3 times (last time for 3 weeks). They are both very different countries and both entirely worth seeing.

Vietnam seems to be more ';in your face'; with people giving you the hard sell every where you go, and also trying to rip you off. While I see how this could ruin a person%26#39;s trip, it didn%26#39;t bother me, I just managed to deal with it. The main cities people tend to visit on their first trip to Vientnam are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, which are a fair distance away and best accessed by plane if you%26#39;re limited for time. It takes more time to get around Vietnam than in Cambodia. The Vietnamese cuisine is nothing short of amazing , if you%26#39;re a foodie. Cambodian is good, but the variety in Vientam is boundless.

If you choose Cambodia, you would have more time to chill out because things are so close together. You can even access Siem Reap (the Angkor Wat area) in 6 hours by bus from Phnom Penh. I would recommend at least 3 full days to see the temples at Angkor, another day if you want to hang out and see the town or do a Tonle Sap river cruise, 2 full days in Phnom Penh and that would leave you time for one more place (the beaches of Sihanoukville or the tiny town of Battambang, for example).

Have a look at this site to give you more information on what%26#39;s available to do there, and see which appeals to you more. That%26#39;s the only way you%26#39;re going to decide!

thats great , thanks for that , for some reason I thought Vietnam would be more '; hard sellers '; than Cambodia..I will check out travelfish for further info..thanks again.

...oh you did say Vietnam was the hard sell..I%26#39;ll just put my reading glasses back on !
