I have been to SR twice but never made it the West Mebon in the West Baray. Now a friend who is going has asked me, ';Is it worth a visit?'; Has anyone been out there and if so, did you feel it was indeed worth the time?

Hi, I%26#39;ve been a few times but only once to the temple, the temple is pretty ruined and to be honest not so interesting, but the boat ride is nice and the view across the water from the island is nice too. But, I do go there every time to have a picnic on the side of the baray and watch the kymers having fun and eating grilled fish, chicken and salad... beer too a lot of the time. Food is available to buy from stalls on the top of the banks and then you go down to the lakeside and choose your spot on bamboo platforms complete with hammocks and the girls down there will sort out drinks and any extra food you need. I think it%26#39;s a lovely way to spend a few hours in the late afternoon and cheap too

Thanks for that! I didnt realize it was such a %26#39;picnic type%26#39; hang out place for locals. That sounds really cool actually.
