SR to Bangkok via Poipet

Hi Auckyshell

I would chew off my arm or cut my holiday short or steal from my Mother before I went through Poipet.

Have I been there no, the countries yes.

Does my wife want to divorce my because I research so much before I travel. Tick.

Why haven鈥檛 I been through Poipet?

See above.

Enjoy

shway

Trying to take heart from the link which initially filled me with horrror and then I read the following :

Generally speaking, package trips going the opposite direction - from Siem Reap to Bangkok - are quicker and there鈥檚 less hassle. Arrange through your guesthouse, hotel or a travel agent.

As we are going this way I am hoping its going to be OK but will look at alternatives. Thanks for your help

It%26#39;s easy to cross into thailand via poipet , i don%26#39;t know why so many people are worried about it , if your generally a fool , then you%26#39;ll get ripped off anywhere , even your own country. Just ignore everyone at the border area that isn%26#39;t behind the glass windows of the border control , get stamped out from cambodia and proceed to the thai side , get your thai visa , you don%26#39;t need anyones help with this , then get a tuk-tuk to Aranyaprathet bus station and buy a ticket for the next bus to bangkok.

Leave SR as early as you can , hire a Camry (taxi) for the trip to the border via sisaphon.

read the info on that link if you feel you really need a ';blow by blow'; , ';inch by inch'; guide. you don%26#39;t need any ';kohsan road'; rubbish bus trips ... do it on your own , once you%26#39;ve done it , you%26#39;ll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Many thanks for your imput, I will post how I go on in a few weeks !

Shelly , you%26#39;ll be fine , it%26#39;s even easier going out to thialand , as you%26#39;re leaving cambodia the touts at poipet will have no interest in you.

If their are a few of you sharing the camry , it makes it cheaper also.

have a good trip
