Best Beach area?

Where is a good place to visit on the cambodian coast?

At present all i know about is ankor wat and phnom phen.

Any help would be great

Maybe Sihanoukville. At least it%26#39;s set up for beach-loving seafood-appreciating, beer-swilling tourists (like myself!). Have a look here-

Although Snuk%26#39;ville has the beaches it%26#39;s not all that great a place, if you can manage without a beach the Kampot/Kep region is far more traditional and (i.m.o.)much nicer, lots of beautiful countryside to explore and lots of local to meet, hire a pushbike and follow your nose, there%26#39;s always Bokor to guide you home, there%26#39;s a great selection of places to stay in Kampot and some good cafe%26#39;s, restaurants and bars along the waterfront.

If you like the beach , Sihanook-ville has several clean beaches with good clean water to swim in , many like Otres but i prefer Victory because it is far more quite with fewer people milling around . There is also a casino if you are interested .

Otres Beach would have to be one of the better beaches much cleaner and less hasseled a good place to stay and relax and enjoy

i suggest you have a look at kep,it does have beaches,not as good as the main beach area though,but what you get is peace and quite,have a look at the verandah resort.we just stayed there it is relax heaven with stunning views and great rooms.

Theres a big debate going on about the beaches of sihanoukville because we visited there mid-January to early February and although it was our first time there we met many %26#39;regulars%26#39; who%26#39;ve been coming to Snooky for many years and words getting around that people are getting slightly worried and are not happy that the beaches are becoming more private and less of the public and lower economy tourists can use, its already happened with Sokha, Independance is being built for private use and Victory is in %26#39;foreign%26#39; ownership so we were told, although thats where we spent alot of time and enjoyed the beach bars there and golden sand. Cant speak about Otres but now big bucks are coming into the country its changing and from the feedback we were getting alot of people who know it well are getting alarmed. Anyway I%26#39;m sure youre enjoy Snooky if you go there and if you do Victory and lie on the sand look out for those massage and fruit vending girls they%26#39;re really nice to have a chat with and very helpful.

What type of room did you stay in at the Verandah?

There are mixed reviews on TA. Did you go on any of their tours? Is it true that the tuk tuk%26#39;s won%26#39;t take you all the way to the resort?

hi there i am very surprised that there would be mixed reviews on the verandah,we stayed in 7 hotels in cambodia and it was the best one by far,the rooms were large and clean the staff were fantastic and the view was just a bonus.yes the tuk tuk cant make it all the way up the hill,but if someone is complainging aboyt walking 30mtrs then they will complain about anything i guess.
