Bangkok to Phnom Penh - Bus?

We are probably flying into Bangkok and spending some time there, but definitely want to see Pnhom Penh and other sites in Cambodia.

Would the best way to get into Cambodia from Bangkok a bus? If so, how long is the trip and appox. how much would a ticket be?

We took a minivan than taxi from Bangkok to Seam Reap. Be SURE to read talesofasia.com before attempting this. We felt it was safe, just a LOT of rip-offs. You need to be aware to avoid them. I would also highly recommend you have someone on the Cambodia side meet you. This will help you avoid a lot of the problems.

We paid $20pp for minivan which attempted to rip us off by stopping at a restaurant for us to purchase Visas. We paid $50 for two for a taxi from PoiPet to Seam Reap, which was great. Arranging ahead of time lets you avoid the taxi mofia, the tuk tuk rip offs, and the guest house touts. I can recommend someone if you like.

I forgot the timing. It took about 9 hours from Bangkok to Siem Reap.

I would fly with Air Asia as I just did in January. Fast, Cheap, and Easy!
