All I can say is : GO, it%26#39;s wonderful.

The boat is long, and if the sea is choppy it could be a bit yucky. The guys who run the boat aren%26#39;t the most friendly chappies you%26#39;ll meet, but once u get to the island it is truly beautiful and incredibly good value for money. We were very sad to leave.

We are planning on taking our 6 year old son next January (2010). Can you see any potential issues with taking children? He%26#39;s a very strong swimmer so would have no problems if the boat can%26#39;t get close. He is also a good walker so shouldn%26#39;t have any problems if we have to come in on the other side of the island. Would love to hear more about other islands also if anyone has any advice. thanks

Hi,

Can you please tell me if you get there from Sihanoukville or Kep?

Thanks!

The boat leaves from Sihanoukville, and it would be a perfect place to take children. You have to swim out to the boat (up to about 4 foot or so, and at the island their is a pier where u get off. If you have to be delivered to the other side of the island it is an easy walk through beautiful jungle. I cant tell u about the other islands as we didn%26#39;t visit them. But i think the only other one that has accom. is bamboo island, but i recall reading that this one wasn%26#39;t so great. I cant recommend lazy beach enough. The staff let you do ur own thing and don%26#39;t interfere when they are not needed. It%26#39;s only a year old, so the beds are pretty new and comfy. The huts are basic but comfy, and the food is great (specially if u order fresh seafood the day before). Go there. You wont be disappointed.

Tip: book early and request a beachside cabin. There are 7 on the beach and 3 behind them a little further away. They still seemed lovely, but being able to walk out and straight on to the beach is great.

Another Tip: go soon before the island gets developed because i%26#39;m sure it will.
