Highly recommended Siem Reap driver with car

My wife and I just returned from our 1st visit to Siem Reap on 1st Nov. I pre-arranged transportation with our driver, Sun Same. As we spent 4 days, we tailored our visits with advice from him.

He had excellent knowlegde all areas, temples and markets in Siem Reap as well as the war museum. He will tailor a customize tour to your preference.

He picked us from the airport and greeted us with a personal name sign. He is a safe driver and was always punctual throughout our entire stay in Siem Reap. Very cheerful and always smiling young man.

He drives an airconditioned Toyota and charges USD25 per day, which in my opinion, reasonable. I would highly recommended him for anyone intending to visit Siem Reap for the 1st time.

Definitely me and my girlfriends were not regret choosing Sun as our Driver in Siem Reap. He is humble,attentive,always smiling, caring and knowledgeable.

He will explain wit dept of every single temple before we get off from te car. Telling us the history, the history behind it, best view. the best walk way, what to look out for,,,,

He is also very hardworked during his free waitting time for us. He would read the book regarding to the Angkor. I am sure one day he will definitely excel in this tourism setor.

Highly recommended Siem Reap driver with car

Just reurn from SIem Reap on 4th Nov. And before I travel, have read through many artice in the tripadvisor pertaining the recommended driver and accommodation. Finally choose to stay at Somadevi Angkor Hotel and Sun Same as our driver.

And I am glad that I have make the right choice for both.

Accomodation - Somadevi Ankor Hotel

A good location (walking distance to Old and Central Market), and 15 min drive from Airport. It cost around US50, which I book on asiahotel.com.

Driver - Sun Same

In addition to what people have comment, I would like to said that his serivces is the major factor of my pleasant stay in Siem Reap.

Not only friendly and punctual driver, he is also very careful and considerate driver. He will also advise you on which place is worth a visit and which is not.

So, I would highly recommend the above for anyone that would like to visit SIem Reap.

But when we were in Siem Reap we had Stayed in the Seung Siem Reap Hotel(www.steungsiemreaphotel.com) He brought us there.We hadn%26#39;t booked by internet. Reasonal price,great facility,nice view to the center as well as close to the old market.

We stayed at the Somadevi Hotel which is very convenient as it is walking distance to the Central Market and the Old Market as well as nearby shops where you can buy bottled water (12 small bottles for USD1. Internet access is avail just outside the hotel which is a small shop that charges USD0.25 for half an hour. Restuarants are only short walk away just outside of hotel. The hotel is relatively new and quite comfortable with satelite/cable tv and friendly staff.

Forgot to mention one important thing is that he speaks relatively good English.

Thanks for the follow-up information about the guide speaking reasonable English. I forgot to ask you, does the driver charge USD25 per PERSON per day, or $25 for the day for multiple people. We are 3 people, so would that be $25 or $75 per day? Do you know?

His charges are USD25 per day and he should be able to take up to 4 persons in his car. It is not charged by per person. However, if you want him to drive further than the usual spots, email him and ask him for the additional cost due to extra fuel required.

We made it a point to have him join us for lunch to get to know him better which we paid for his meals.

He can also do bookings on your behalf for the Apsara Show which cost USD12 per person.

He is very accomodating. All you need to do is to tell him what you want to do. Just give him a bit of advance notice.

I am sure you will enjoy your stay in Siem Reap as you will be in good hands.

Have have one more question: I emailed Sun Same and he is available to drive us, but he says he is not a guide. He can arrange for a guide for an extra fee. From your post, I assumed that Sun Same was your driver AND guide. Or did you hire a guide for extra. How much extra was the guide?
