Hi,
Would like to get opinions about these 3 hotels. We%26#39;re traveling in June with kids ages 11 and 13, will spend 3 nights in PP.
We%26#39;d like to all be in one room, will this work in any of the above (Kabiki seems to have some ';double rooms with bunk beds';... not sure what this means.)
The Billabong reviews mention frequent power outages. Seems like this would affect the AC unless they have a backup generator?
We plan on coming back to the hotel in the afternoons to cool off and have a swim, so need to be convenient, but I think this shouldn%26#39;t be a problem in such a small city, right?
Thx.
PP hotel: kabiki vs. billabong vs. villa langka
Hi SanFranciscoRiley
We stayed in the Suite room at Villa Langka a couple of months ago. It%26#39;s the largest room that they have (65 sqm apparently), however I personally don%26#39;t believe it%26#39;s worth the $US 110 (plus 10% VAT) asking price.
The room does feel spacious, but it%26#39;s really only one large open room (sort of like a studio apartment) with one bed plus a couch. Unless your family is very close, I probably wouldn%26#39;t recommend trying to squeeze into this room. The other comment that I would make about the Suite room is that it isn%26#39;t in great condition - I expected more given the price.
Having said all that, I have heard that some of the other rooms are in much better condition (despite being cheaper) and you can book two of the standard rooms for less than the price of the Suite room. I realise this doesn%26#39;t meet with your requirement of staying in one room, but to be honest I don%26#39;t think four people staying in one room is a realistic option at Villa Langka.
Location is okay - you can walk to street 278 where there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. For anything else you%26#39;ll need to catch a tuk tuk.
I think it%26#39;s only fair that I also mention that the reception staff at Villa Lankga were extremely friendly and very helpful and the pool area is quite lovely. Food in the restaurant is also of a high quality.
