Do you really need to prebook your tour?

Arriving on the evening of the last Friday of February. Only have the full day of Saturday and Sunday to see the sights as we are leaving afternoon of Monday.

Am contemplating if I will book those advertised room+tour packages, or contact a driver and guide by email, or just arrange with the driver and guides there.

What would be best?

No need to pre book any tours. If your arriving by aircraft you will be met by 100s of tuk tuk drivers at the airport all wanting to be your guide for the next few days.

Select a driver who has reasonable good english as he will pass on plenty of info during your tours. Average cost is about US$15 per day.

Take a look at our recent trip here for some ideas... www.bobandjanette.com

With such a short amount of time you might want to make sure that you are going to get a great experience. If English is your preferred language a great English speaking guide can be reached at angkor-guides.com. you will not be disappointed!

Do it when you get there. There are DOZENS upon dozens of people who will be willing to schlep you/guide you anywhere. According to my buddy who lives there, there%26#39;s not such a glut of tourists at the moment so you have nothing to worry about.

Its better to book ahead as the best guides are in high demand. Taking a driver at the airport is a lottery; some will be OK but drivers are not allowed to guide; so they will leave you at the temple gates.

A good Guide can really enhance your experience, so if you can get a good recommendation I%26#39;d take it.
