Our small family of three visited Siem Reap and Angkor Wat for three days in early November. We had decided that we would use guidebooks rather than a person as guide, as we had elsewhere experienced difficulties understanding the guides%26#39; English and absorbing the myriad rote historical details they often provide. That decision turned out to be perfect for us, as we picked and chose from the guidebooks only the information we wanted.
Thus, upon arrival at the airport, we checked at the reception desk, where taxis and drivers are assigned to arriving passengers. We were assigned a driver named (Khut) Sambo who stayed with us for our entire stay at $ 25.00 per day. He is a safe, reliable and responsible driver (picked us up and met us whenever and wherever we directed), as well as being experienced and knowledgeable about the various sites (the monuments, the artisan school, and shopping), incl. the distances and times we would need to visit each. Most importantly, he is fluent in English.

He%26#39;s professional, caring and often helped us look out for a member of out team with a recent leg injury. His self effacing demeanor was a pleasure as well.
