Hi All,
I will be travelling with my husband and another couple to Cambodia for three weeks. Mostly, each couple will get a tuk tuk to get around the temples etc. But when we go further out to Beng Mealea, for example, it%26#39;s cheaper to hire one car between us. Will the four of us fit comfortably in one 4 seat toyota? I assume it%26#39;s really a five seat car (one for driver)and has 4 extra seats for passengers.
Thanks for your help
Cooperellie
Will 4 Aussie people (not skinny) fit in a Toyota car ?
Hi Cooperellie,
Sedan cars (4-seater car) in Indochina (Vietnam, Laos %26amp; Cambodia)are not very large and for this party, the only thing to use is minivan 12s-16seater since sedan car only have 4 seats, drive will take one seat and the other seat next to him and the back seat not enough space for 04 guests.
Regards,
Bobby
Will 4 Aussie people (not skinny) fit in a Toyota car ?
one passanger would be in the front seat - so plenty of room
the other 3 would be in the back, and as expected space is less, and the middle seat isnt exactly a seat! It may be ok for a short journey, but I wouldn%26#39;t want to spend all day squeezed into the back if i was taller than about 5%26#39;5 and anything more than ';slim to normal'; build
If you were going to hire a guide too, then there would def not be any room.
for comfort I%26#39;d probably say get a mini van, more room to spread out over a longer drive!
No space for the tinnies though!
Better of with a van or just hiring another car. We aren%26#39;t talking a lot of dosh here. Better to be comfy than squished.
WHAT!!!
No space for the tinnies?
Maybe we should hire a bus then!
Seriously, thanks everyone, I was going to organise a car, but now seems like a van is the way to go and it%26#39;s not much more money really.
Cheers (hic)

I was wondering how you would take that tinnie jest cooperellie.
Just a kiwi leg pull.
You%26#39;ll have a great trip .What month?
Jimshu,
I%26#39;m half Kiwi and half Aussie,so tinnies are in my blood!
Sadly (sigh) not going till November, but I love planning ahead.

Best part of our trip Jan 2008 was the boat trip Siem Reap to Battambang.Long hot day, but really very interesting. We chose the smaller boat, the larger was crowded with tourists, ours with locals. And we did all the little stops, picking up and dropping off locals and their produce.
Which ever you choose, get inside near the front. At least you get out of the sun.Don%26#39;t sit near the back, too much engine noise.Take ear plugs.
And make a point of visiting your countryman Greg At Greg%26#39;s Bustop Bar ,number 149 2nd Street, Battambang.
He keeps the tinnies chilled.
Second best day, was taking a motorcycle tour at Battambang.Visiting rural areas, villages, fruit farm, orphanage and school where you should be able to see their display of performing arts.
And the return to Battambang was on the Bamboo Express. Now this ya gotta do!What fun.
Old tank track bogies welded to axles, jack up a motor, drop a bamboo tray over the axles, load up your produce,m/cycles,dumbfounded tourists, and away you go on the railway track.
OOPPS, there%26#39;s a train coming.Stop, unload the gear and awestruck tourists, dismantle the tray, lift away the axles, and let the train past.Reassemble and away we go again.
Graet fun.
email sopornbb@yahoo.com and he%26#39;ll arrange the trip.Even a homestay if you want a real different experience.
Envy you.
